Grade: III, III+ (Difficult, requires accurate manoeuvring)
This is one of the most adventurous rafting packages offered at present on the Ganges in Rishikesh. It is a long run of 35+ kms so it takes half a day to do this circuit. However, due to the vast expanse of this river stretch, it is only run when the river is running high. Additionally, the minimum size of the group required is of 6 people.
This rafting trip starts from Kaudiyala which is about a one hour drive from Rishikesh. This stretch is well known for its Grade III and Grade III+ rapids with a Grade IV rapid called “The Wall”. This stretch is the most fun and adventurous since sometimes the raft turns upside down at “The wall”. It isn’t as scary as it sounds but it sure is fun! It is more exciting than dangerous since our rafts are accompanied with expert guides and all safety equipment. You are also wearing a life jacket so there is no chance of any harm. We will be spending about 4-5 hours on the river. This stretch has about 12 rapids which is a combination of small and large ones. We will be giving you a safety briefing before the beginning. We will be traversing through some popular rapids like Daniels dip which is a (III+ grade rapid), the wall (IV grade), Three blind mice (III+), Cross fire (III+) and club house (III) rapids. The trip is one of the most loved rafting trips in Rishikesh because of the complete package it proves to be. The rafting will end just before Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh. It’s a very short drive back to the main road from the place we conclude the trip.
Best time to go – Trips start in September and continue till June. Monsoons are not the best time for Rafting so we prefer the months from September to June.
